The Soldiers Table Revealed
The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the initial group of characters who will branch out from the main group to undertake their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team includes Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.
This explains, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might appear out of place, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a violent first encounter with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, striking the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then paid off his obligations and fled to a secure base in the remote area, above the city, with Cyd close behind.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with the region and advises that it is a nasty location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their status as key figures in the influential clan could help the party reach locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now follow him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- Thimble and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The target is marked for death by House Halovar.
This leaves them few options but to travel to Timmony in search of the traitor.
